Project context

One of Australia’s major banks initiated a significant operational shift by bringing its network infrastructure management back in house after years of relying on a managed service provider. This transition required the bank to onboard a large, complex network environment under strict timelines, ensuring continuity, compliance, and complete operational readiness from day one.

Our Solution

To address the scale and precision required, Nexivity developed a purpose-built Network Onboarding framework. At its core was a dynamic configuration engine that interpreted intent for each protocol and generated device-specific configurations

Structured data models defined expected configurations at both site and device levels. These were processed by a logic engine that accounted for device-specific variations, software version constraints, and edge cases. Configurations were then staged and deployed in tightly controlled batches, each aligned with pre-approved change windows to mitigate operational risk.

Automated validation and rollback checks were integrated into every step of the deployment process, ensuring only verified changes were applied to production environments.

Outcome we delivered

All changes were tracked, validated, and delivered in line with bank standards, supporting internal governance and external regulatory audits

The framework processed thousands of devices efficiently, enabling a 91% reduction in manual effort and significantly accelerating the onboarding process.

The project was completed by the end of the financial year with $0 penalty cost, meeting all contractual milestones.

The automation solution was built for reusability, enabling the bank to leverage the same framework for future rollouts and upgrades
